About Savaria?

Savaria Corporation has a rich history built on 30 years of industry presence. As a leader in accessibility, Savaria has built thousands of lifts and elevators used around the world to help improve access for wheelchair users and other mobility challenged people in the home and in public spaces.

Designed and engineered by a team of dedicated Savaria employees, the company’s products are often customized to the exact needs of the project or user. Driven by a desire to provide the best service in the business, Savaria works with a large network of skilled dealers to answer every customer’s unique needs.

Savaria’s manufacturing facilities feature many automated technologies to build high quality, reliable products. This is complemented with craftsmanship for finishing products such as hardwood interiors of luxury elevators. Inspections are also done by hand to ensure that finished products meet Savaria’s high standards.

History

Acquired in 1989 by Marcel Bourassa, Savaria’s CEO today, the company grew significantly as an accessibility company. With the acquisition of Concord Elevator in 2005, Savaria entered the luxury home elevator market with innovative, high quality brands by Concord. That same year, Savaria acquired Van-Action to offer wheelchair van conversions and custom vehicle adaptations.

With the 2006 opening of its 100% managed manufacturing operation in Huizhou, China, Savaria is able to more efficiently produce components for its array of products. This complements the company’s North American custom manufacturing operations.

In 2010, the company consolidated its brands under the Savaria moniker as personal mobility products. Uniquely positioned to offer solutions in the home, public spaces and vehicles, the company seeks to better the mobility of people no matter where they need it.
